Warren "Brother Kent" Barrett

Host of The New Gospel Exchange

Kent Barrett is a native of New Haven, Connecticut. Brother Kent, as he is known to the radio community, has deep roots in the areas of Gospel music and the community at large. The grandson of a minister, his faith and commitment to God was instilled in him at a very early age.

Kent began his radio career at WYBC as an announcer, in 1999 he became the Music Director for Gospel at the station. Kent is currently a Gospel Jockey. at WNHU.

In addition to his responsibilities at the radio station, he is employed at Yale University. As a very active member of the Gospel Music Workshops of America, Kent serves on the Gospel Announcer’s Guild, and the Hospitality committee. In the community, he is a Board Member of the Freddie Fixer Committee and has hosted an Annual Gospel Event for the past 10 years.

Kent attends Prayer Tabernacle Church of Love, Bridgeport, CT, where the pastor is Bishop Kenneth H. Moales.

88.7FM WNHU is the University of New Haven's non-commercial, official FCC-licensed FM radio station broadcasting live 24/7 from the basement of Maxcy Hall. Daily operations are maintained by a departmental general manager, student station managers and directors, and a staff comprised of undergraduate students, graduate students, community volunteers, and faculty members. WNHU's staff of DJs and radio personalities are comprised of both undergraduate students and community members.
